Summer Schedule | |
| To start off the summer right, JHB has six shows in the following three weeks! The tour starts in central Wisconsin at the new Cruise-In bar, and moves on Saturday to one of the biggest dance floors in the area at the A-1 Sports Bar in Boulder Junction. The weekend of June 27th, the party moves to Minocqua's blues capitol at the Black Bear Bar. And on Saturday, JHB can be seen rocking the blues in front of a hometown crowd at the Thunderbird Bar & Grill. The three week series cresendos on a high note with a huge Fourth of July celebration at the Thunderbird. And July 5th the JHB can be found tearing up the PI Pub in Presque Isle, Wisconsin. We hope to see you all out and about this summer season...spending the days on the lake, and the evenings with the JHB! | ||

Minocqua Bluesfest 2008 | |
| Jerry Henry has been asked by one of the countries premiere blues performers, Billy "Big Daddy" Cade, to back him at this summer's Minocqua Bluesfest. The annual event, held at the Black Bear Bar in Minocqua, WI, has become one of Northern Wisconsin's most popular music events. "Big Daddy" Cade has recently wrapped up an extended appearance in the Las Vegas Legends Revue in which he gained international acclaim portraying the legendary B.B. King. Jerry is honored to have been personally requested by Big Daddy to join his band for this special event. From Ron Hoerter, Director of the Bake Sale: Volume Four compilation, "On November 19 the Murphy's Saloon Blues Podcast featured the track "Bringing On The Night" by the Jerry Henry Band. Murphy gave the Jerry Henry Band a great plug in the show and also posted a link to the Great Northern Blues Society website. The Jerry Henry Band has also been receiving play on Mark Kerr's Blues Nation. This show is now being featured on Kansas City Online Radio every Saturday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm central time." | Mark Kerr's Blues Nation, one of the countries top indie blues podcasts, has been featuring The Jerry Henry Band consistently since the first podcasts late last year. The show, which has been picked up by several other online stations including Kansas City Online Radio (KCOR), features blues and blues rock from independent artists around the world. The show has proven so successful that Mark Kerr, the programs originator and host, has recently been inducted into the Blues Hall Of Fame as "Ambassador to the Blues" for the state of Louisiana. Jerry Henry & Howard "Guitar" Luedtke | |
| On September 1st Jerry Henry performed with the legendary blues artist Howard "Guitar" Luedtke at the Black Bear Bar in Minocqua, WI. In attendance was an intimate crowd of about 75 blues enthusiasts who all agreed that the acoustic performance was phenomenal. It was the first time the musicians had ever performed together but hopefully not the last! | From playing in front of hundreds at the Crandon Fireworks to playing in front of thousands at Port Fish Day, the JHB has deemed the summer a great success. The JHB's summer is coming to a close, but the band still has plenty of shows remaining throughout the end of 2006. The band is now booking their winter schedule and some new dates have been added the calendar. The JHB would like to thank everyone who came out to show their support and they hope to see everyone throughout the remaining shows this fall. | ||

The Jerry Henry Band has just announced that they will be performing downtown in Crandon, Wisconsin at Crandon's 2006 July 4th Celebration! The festivities on Saturday, July 1st, will start at 7pm until the band takes a break for the fireworks. Then the JHB will be performing long into the night! | It's official! The Jerry Henry Band will be appearing at the annual Port Fish Day Festival in Port Washington, WI on July 15th! The JHB will be performing from 3-6pm on the blues stage right inside the main gate. Port Fish Day is the "World's Largest One Day Outdoor Fish Fry" and the day will be packed with festivities. Since Midnight Special Blues Radio debuted the Jerry Henry Band at #1 on their radio program, other radio stations have jumped onboard. Jerry Henry was approached by 91.7 FM WSUM in Madison, WI to do a station ID for a variety of blues programming supported at the station. | The numbers are in and online sales for songs off of the Jerry Henry Band's "Rockin' the Blues" release numbered in the thousands for 2005. The most popular download was not the #1 "Closing Time Blues", but rather the blues rock standard "Messin' with the Kid". Thank you to everyone for contributing to these sales and supporting the band. | ||

"CLOSING TIME BLUES" HITS #1! | |
Midnight Special Blues Radio, the top rated internet radio station broadcasting out of Paris, France, added JHB's "Closing Time Blues" to their playlist in October. Blues fans immediately voted the song #1 on the station's world-wide on-line listeners pole. MS Blues quickly added two more JHB tracks to their playlist. As a result, JHB had songs in the station's top 20 for several consecutive weeks. MS Blues management asked Jerry and his '65 Strat to record a station ID spot which is now airing on a regular basis. |
